Ribbon Memory Boards~

To make a 'Ribbon Board' / 'Memory Board' you will need the following materials. Its really quite simple depending on how much detail you want. My daughter requested the instructions so I decided to post it on the Blog. Hope you have some fun with it~

Materials Needed:
  1. Artists Canvas - any size, painted with ACRYLICS, colors of choice
  2. Assorted Ribbons- long enough to reach from side to side , across canvas, just to back wooden frame
  3. Staple Gun
  4. Embellishments of your choice, Stamps, Flowers, Reg Brads & Jeweled Brads,  Clothespins- various sizes.....get creative in what you add...
Instructions :
  1. Paint canvas with the acrylic paint, adding stamped images @ top or bottom. Allow to dry completely. Keep in mind the whole center will be covered with ribbons.
  2. Cut your ribbon lengths just enough past the sides to reach the back, to staple onto the wooden frame. Keep ribbon tight while measuring .
  3. Lay out an idea of which ribbons you want where, also layering some of them , if you want.
  4. Starting with 1 ribbon , anywhere on the canvas, staple on the back side , pull tight across the front to the other side to staple around back. Because this is a Memory Board and you will be slipping Photos & Such , you will want the ribbons to be tight.
  5. Continue this process until you have all the ribbons you want, stapled onto the canvas.
  6. Then add Brads , Flowers, Etc. While attaching brads , pierce a tiny hole with a sharp object such as a paper piercer or sharp thin nail, through the ribbon and canvas. Slip tongs of brad through the hole & open brad tongs to lay flat on the backside of canvas. Add a dab of glue to tongs for added strength.
  7. Continue to add embellishments until you feel you are finished. ENJOY ~
